New York Giants
The New York Giants did not have a coach in place at the time of the Senior Bowl. Otherwise, they were next in line to coach it. Now, a month later, Brian Daboll was signed from the Buffalo Bills to become the 22nd coach in Giants history.
No. 5 – Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa
In each of the first three mock drafts, I placed Trevor Penning on the Giants/Broncos in the Top 10. Nothing changes here. Penning showed up to Mobile with the underdog mindset you would expect from an overlooked FCS talent. From Day 1, he was lined up against the best of the best from the Big 10 and SEC. And he dominated every player on nearly every rep. Many reporters were disgusted with Penning because he finished through every whistler and almost started a fight during every rep. I personally loved it. The bigger school players can look at the Senior Bowl like an all-star game. But for someone at the FCS level, the disrespect is real. Penning came to snatch souls and prove he is the best tackle in the class.
No. 7 – Tyler Linderbaum, OL – Iowa
Pairing Tyler Linderbaum with potential No. 5 overall pick Trevor Penning would elevate the Giants offensive line. Protecting Daniel Jones would allow the team to put him in the best situation possible to excel. Not to mention the need for health along the offensive line to allow Saquon Barkley to jump back into the ‘Top-5 running backs in the NFL discussion.

The Giants currently have $-3,248,253 Cap Space. You can find other team needs and free agents here. These include left tackle Nate Solder and guard Will Hernandez, both added in the 2018 offseason.
No. 36 – Myjai Sanders, EDGE – Cincinnati
In 2021, the Giants finished No. 27 in pressures, No. 27 in quarterback knockdowns, and No. 24 in sacks. Lorenzo Carter finished No. 3 in sacks on the team and is set to become a free agent. Myjai Sanders joins 2021 second-round pick and team sack leader Azeez Ojulari coming off the edge. Sanders was notably not put in the best positions to put all of his talents on tape. Cincinnati head coach Luke Fickell said they used him to help the team, not elevate his draft stock. But at the Senior Bowl, Sanders took it upon himself to dominate from the jump. He will be undersized for a year at 249-pounds, but Sanders has the energy, talent, and motor.
No. 67 – Greg Dulcich, TE – UCLA
The Evan Engram experience has been a flop for the Giants. With the new coaching staff coming over from Buffalo, drafting their version of Dawson Knox has to be a goal. Greg Dulcich is a top-tier athlete in this tight end class, projecting around a 4.60 40-yard dash at the 2022 NFL Combine.
No. 81 – David Bell, WR – Purdue
David Bell is projected in some circles as a late first to early second round pick. But in other circles, scouts and media project the NFL to overlook the Purdue standout. Finishing with 2,997 total yards in three years puts him 800 yards ahead of teammate and 2021 prospect Rondale Moore. New York needs that true Z-receiver opposite of Kenny “overrated” Golladay, to allow Sterling Shepard and Kadarius Toney to play in the slot.
No. 110 – Channing Tindall, LB – Georgia
With the potential loss of Blake Martinez in free agency, the Georgia middle man will come over after a National Championship, 5.5 sacks, and being the No. 3 tackle leader. Channing Tindall is the throwback, big-body, cowboy-collar wearing stud that plays between the lines and is a run game stalwart.
The Gettleman Disaster
The Giants have not had a record above .500 since Eli Manning retired, Ben McAdoo was in his first season, and Odell Beckham was at the forefront. Oh, and before Saquon Barkley was drafted. It’s no coincidence that in four of those past five seasons the General Manager has been Dave Gettleman, who took over a perennial Wild Card franchise and ran it into the ground.
