Buffalo Bills
No. 25 – George Karlaftis – EDGE – Purdue
Early in the 2022 NFL Draft process, George Karlaftis was a consensus top-10 pick. Often times, he was the next EDGE defender taken in the Top 5 after Kayvon Thibodeaux. Karlaftis finished his freshman seasons at Purdue with 7.5 sacks and 17 tackles for loss. He was unable to follow up the performance in 2020 due to COVID-19, and an injury that caused him to miss all but two games.

Entering 2021 as the big dog in Athens, Greece, Karlaftis received All-Big Ten and All-Big Ten academic honors while leading the team on and off the field. Oftentimes, he was seen at 4:45 AM in the Purdue weight room; at times with footage of him split squatting up to 500-pounds.
No. 57 – Christian Harris – LB – Alabama
A value pick in Round 2, the Alabama do-it-all linebacker will fit into Buffalo perfect. Veterans A.J. Klein and Tyler Matakevich have “likely cut candidates” written all over them. Pairing Harris with the likes of Tremaine Edmunds will give Buffalo optimal athleticism and range at the linebacker position that few teams in the NFL possess. And we have yet to mention the depth at the defensive line position that opens the holes for these studs.
No. 89 – Cole Strange – OL – Chattanooga
Heading into the Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, “this kid from Chattanooga” was rumored to be the next Ali Marpet, or Quinn Meinerz. And that thought is not far off. Meirnez and Marpet were more polished pass blockers. But the aggression and pure strength that Cole Strange brings was nearly on the level of fellow small-school standout Trevor Penning.
While struggling in pass blocking during one-on-ones, Strange made up for it in the inside run portions of practice. Buffalo uses another early mid-round pick to bolster this offensive line after taking Spencer Brown from Northern Iowa in the third, and Tommy Doyle from Boston College in Round 5 of the 2021 NFL Draft.
No. 128 – John Ridgeway – DL – Arkansas
The likely departures of free-agent defensive linemen Jerry Hughes ($10,750,000), Mario Addison ($10,150,000), and Vernon Butler($7,500,000) all but puts the writing on the wall for Buffalo to not only add George Karlaftis in Round 1, but to double back and take the 6-6 320-pound, sixth-year senior. Ridgeway totaled 39 tackles, four tackles for loss, and two sacks for Arkansas in 11 games during the 2021 season. He was also tabbed an FCS Freshman All-American at Illinois State after racking up 30 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack while predominantly playing nose guard.
