NFL Draft Rankings | Player Profiler Rookie Guide Favorites

Best Ball Plays & Strategy

Draft season is upon us! Tis the season for training video tweets and agents leaking information to try and push players in the first round.  But, what is the best part about draft SZN? The Player Profiler Rookie Guide is the answer! Today, I want to share two morsels from this decadent draft guide. These are NFL Draft Rankings for players in the 2023 NFL Draft! The Rookie Guide tells you which players are likely to be drafted higher than people think.

I will pull back the curtain and share two players the Rookie Guide loves compared to the consensus of the fantasy community. And yes, we know everyone loves Jaxon Smith-Njigba or Anthony Richardson. We go deeper than that. This is about players PlayerProfiler values higher compared to other outlets. I’ll start with everyone’s favorite Longhorn running back!

Roschon Johnson RB | University of Texas

Gotcha! Yes, we do have Bijan Robinson firmly positioned at number one. However, this is about Roschon Johnson. The Johnson love at PlayerProfiler goes all the way back to when Matt and Cody traveled to the Senior Bowl. Alex Dunlap of RosterWatch, who had connections at the University of Texas at Austin, first mentioned him and said we need to monitor his activity. Johnson had a quiet declaration to the NFL Draft while all the attention was on his star teammate Robinson. Soon, reports came out about how pleased the coaching staff was with him at the Senior Bowl. Additionally, he impressed NFL teams with his workouts and interviews.

Johnson doesn’t have a padded stat sheet chock full of rushing yards and touchdowns. However, Johnson was recruited as a quarterback. He then changed positions to become a running back. Additionally, he proved to be a team leader, and left a positive impression on both the coaching staff and his teammates. He only carried the ball 100 times once in his college career. Therefore, there’s plenty of tread left on the tires! Johnson’s possesses good size and decent metrics. The problem is he was never a workhorse in college due to sharing a backfield with the best running back prospect in the last five years. His play style comparison listed in the draft kit is former NFL MVP Shaun Alexander. Do not fall for the lack of college production. Johnson will be drafted by round three or sooner and needs to be taken in your dynasty drafts!

Zay Flowers WR | Boston College

It’s springtime and the flowers are blooming, and in our draft kit- Zay Flowers is BOOMING! Flowers was graded out as our No. 2 wide receiver. Not only is he the No. 2 wide receiver in this draft class for us, but he also has the No. 6 highest prospect grade out of the entire draft class! Flowers spent all four years at Boston College, and he was eligible to be drafted last year, but Flowers wanted to remain loyal to Boston College and complete his four-year career there. He has produced numbers even going back to his freshman year, but he had his breakout year his sophomore season.

Flowers is usually ranked between the No. 3 and No. 5 spots in other fantasy media outlets that rank the wide receivers, but us being bullish on him started with his age 20 breakout season, a 29.6-percent college target share (89th -percentile), and a 46.7-percent College Dominator rating (94th -percentile).

Add in that he was a favorite with our Breakout Finder and you have the perfect mix for a special wide receiver. He never got to be fully “unleashed” in the NCAA because his team was limited in the talent department, but he showed enough skills in his four years to become a potential first round pick. The play style comp in the Rookie Draft Guide is top ten wide receiver Jaylen Waddle. If you are stuck with a middle to late first round pick in your Dynasty draft, PlayerProfiler Nation supports your selection to take Zay Flowers! These are our NFL Draft Rankings!
