Dynasty Market Movers: Week 11 Report

Dynasty Leagues

The Dynasty Makers Movers Week 11 report is here to add context to the biggest and most intriguing risers and fallers on PlayerProfiler’s dynasty rankings. In a season where a rookie wide receiver seems to break out every week, members of the 2020 class of RBs not named James Robinson have finally started to pop.

Stock Trending Up

J.K. Dobbins – RB Baltimore Ravens

In Week 11, J.K. Dobbins led the Baltimore backfield with a 66.1-percent Snap Share, earning 15 carries and two targets. He turned them into a season best 16.5 fantasy points with 85 total yards, two receptions, and a score. Leading all rookies with a 4.8 (No. 9 among qualified running backs) True Yards Per Carry mark (minimum 50 carries), Dobbins has moved past Josh Jacobs and Miles Sanders to climb to RB7, and the No. 7 overall slot, on PlayerProfiler’s dynasty rankings.

The future looks bright for the talented Ohio State product, especially with the prospect of the Raven backfield becoming much less crowded in 2021. Unfortunately, Dobbins landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, so we’ll wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him build on this performance soon.

Raheem Mostert – RB San Fransisco 49ers

To win fantasy football championships, managers need to stay one step ahead of the competition. Market value can change fast. Back on the practice field and soon to be activated from the injured reserve, Raheem Mostert gains 18 spots and moves inside the top 40 to a rank of RB38. Decimated by injury, the 49ers running game has not seen consistent production, so Mostert could see a healthy workload as soon as he returns to action. Although he’s only appeared in four games this season, he has produced double digit fantasy points in three. He actually leads all qualified running backs with 7.3 Yards per Touch and averages 5.1 (No. 3) True Yards Per Carry. Mostert could provide a nice boost to a contending dynasty team and is still likely able to be obtained at value.

Diontae Johnson – WR Pittsburgh Steelers

Featured as a market riser back in Week 2, Diontae Johnson‘s dynasty stock would have hit WR1 levels long ago if not for a few injury hiccups. Johnson earned a season high 16 targets in Week 11 and has seen over 10 targets in every game that he hasn’t been hampered by injury.

In the pass-happy Steelers offense, the sophomore WR has 81 (No. 13) targets, a 22.6-percent (No. 19) Target Share, and a 20.6-percent (No. 4) Hog Rate. Johnson gained 26.14 Lifetime Value points and moved up eight spots to WR18, making him the biggest riser on the dynasty rankings.

Denzel Mims – WR New York Jets

In four games this season, Denzel Mims has seen a 95.9-percent (No. 5) Snap Share with a 100.0-percent (No. 1) Route Participation mark. He seen 26 (No. 100) targets, three games with at least seven targets, and averages 97.8 Air Yards per game. Mims had 13 (No. 118) receptions for 217 (No. 98) receiving yards with a season best stat line of three catches for 71 yards in Week 11. With a 53.8-percent (No. 110) Catchable Target Rate, the rookie hasn’t benefitted from good quarterback play. Mims should continue to improve this season, but with the Jets tanking for the first overall pick, it’s exciting to consider what his situation could soon look like. His climb from WR43 to WR36 in the dynasty rankings may just be scratching the surface of what’s to come.

Taysom Hill – QB New Orleans Saints

Taysom Hill signed a two year, $21 million contract extension with the New Orleans Saints in April 2020. He’s been listed as the No. 2 QB on the Saints depth chart all season long. Sean Payton has consistently shown confidence in him. However, many had this polarizing player benched in favor of Jameis Winston for Week 11.

In his first NFL regular season start, Hill leaned heavily on Michael Thomas, completing 78.3-percent of his pass attempts for 233 yards and no interceptions. He added a fantasy friendly rushing floor of 51 yards and ran in two TDs. Hill’s stock gained 7.37 Lifetime Value points on PlayerProfiler’s dynasty rankings to move him up 12 spots to QB22. With Drew Brees out at least two more weeks and retirement rumors circulating, another strong outing against the Broncos in Week 12 should have even the biggest doubters pondering Hill’s dynasty future.

Stock Trending Down

Joshua Kelley – RB Los Angeles Chargers

Joshua Kelley has seen his Snap Share drop for the past two weeks, bottoming out at 14.7-percent in Week 11. The fourth-round rookie ran the ball only four times for -2 yards, and gained four yards on two receptions. This drop in playing time coincides with Kalen Ballage‘s emergence in the Chargers backfield. Ballage split carries with Kelley in Week 9, but has dominated snaps over the past two weeks.

Perhaps the rookie is nursing an undisclosed ailment, being given a breather, or maybe he’s just being outplayed. Over his three games with the Chargers, Ballage has produced a 257 total yards on 49 carries and 14 receptions. With Austin Ekeler nearing a return, Kelley’s stock may not turn around anytime soon. He’s dropped seven spots to RB35.

Alvin Kamara – RB New Orleans Saints

While a Taysom Hill-led offense proved positive for Michael Thomas, it was not as friendly to Alvin Kamara. Hill targeted his alpha wideout, pushed the ball deep and used his legs rather than check it down. Kamara scored a season low 10.5 fantasy points and was targeted just once. A touchdown salvaged a disastrous day for Kamara, who’s fantasy value is boosted to elite levels due to his passing game prowess. Kamara’s 648 (No. 1) receiving yards on the season eclipses his 536 (No. 14) rushing yards. Less of that receiving work greatly limits his fantasy football upside.

It’s too soon to panic, but Kamara owners have to be concerned about not only the present, but also the possibility of Hill taking over for Drew Brees as the Saints’ future signal caller. The 25-year old Kamara’s takes a dip in the dynasty rankings, falling three spots from RB2 to RB5. Needless to say, fantasy managers will be watching closely to see if Hill checks the ball down a bit more in Week 12.

Julio Jones – WR Atlanta Falcons

Injuries have slowed down stud wide receiver Julio Jones and he’s now fallen outside of the Top 40 on PlayerProfiler’s dynasty rankings. Sadly, Jones lost 13.01 Lifetime Value points to drop seven spots to WR44, making him the biggest WR faller on the rankings.

Still capable of producing big weeks, Jones has become a boom or bust option this season. He has three top 12 fantasy WR performances, but also has three weeks outside of the Top 60. Heading into Week 12, he’s listed as questionable with a nagging hamstring injury. He did not practice Friday. All his owners can do at this point is hope for better health.

Marquise Brown – WR Baltimore Ravens

Marquise Brown was featured as a market faller in the Week 8 edition of the Dynasty Market Movers. It wasn’t expected that he would be highlighted again in Week 11. At that time, he was voicing his displeasure about his role in the Ravens’ offense. Since then, Brown’s production has dropped off even further. He’s seen only 16 targets in the last four games and has just six receptions for 55 yards. He last scored a touchdown in Week 8 versus the Steelers.

From a fantasy perspective, Brown’s declining output since Week 6 is the definition of a falling stock. His point production since then reads as follows: 9.7 points (WR42), 7.3 points (WR54), 6.8 points (WR69), 3.4 points (WR79) and 0.0 points (WR11). On the year, Brown has six performances outside the top 50 wide receivers and drops eight spots to WR40 in the dynasty rankings.

David Njoku – TE Cleveland Browns

Uber athlete David Njoku was not targeted against Houston in Week 10 and saw only one target in Week 11. Bad Cleveland weather aside, Njoku has just 14 (No. 53) targets in his six games played this season and has not surpassed three targets in any contest. He has produced eight (No. 52) receptions for 102 (No. 52) receiving yards and two (No. 21) touchdowns. He plummets another six spots this week to fall to TE35 on the dynasty rankings. The change of scenery he’s been wishing for is likely what’s needed to help boost his dynasty stock trend in a positive direction.
