Throughout the 2020 NFL Season, I will dig through the five best props each week on MKF. I will preview the coming week, and review the results from the past. Starting Week 1 off with a $200 budget, and a $5-10 target per prop.

Week 4 Review

The week we have waited for, a mere four rushing yards from Jerick McKinnon and one reception from Greg Ward away from hitting on all four props last week. McKinnon and Ward stood pat for the entire second half on Sunday night after extreme usage in the first half. We maneuvered through the traps in Week 4, doubling down on Tampa vs Los Angeles and hitting. Not to mention the gimme pick of the week featuring Russell Wilson and Ryan Fitzpatrick that smashed.

Monday Night’s Touchdown Dance was cancelled due to Davante Adams being inactive, but that didn’t stop Aaron Jones and Todd Gurley from scoring three total touchdowns. One can imagine that would’ve also smashed if Adams had played.

After crushing in Week 4 and making $105, our season total is now $305.

Week 5

For the second week in a row, the books have seven games with projected totals over 50 on the main slate. This week, we have been gifted with touchdown-heavy matchups. The main focus will be on Jacksonville at Houston, with a keen eye on a few games projected to eclipse 53 points, including Sunday Night Football in the Great Northwest.

No. 1) Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons: Touchdown Dance

Prop: Mike Davis, Todd Gurley, and Calvin Ridley OVER 3.5 Touchdowns.

Mike Davis has logged 21 touches in each of his two starts, scoring a touchdown in each game and averaging a career-high 5.4 (No. 18 among qualified running backs) Yards per Touch. Atlanta has given up five touchdowns to running backs, including three in the receiving game.

Monkey Knife Fight Touchdown Dance Prop No. 1 – Week 5

Carolina gave up 27 rushing touchdowns and 30 overall scores to running backs in 2019, eight more than any other team. Nothing has changed in 2020. The Panthers are tied for No. 1 with eight touchdowns allowed to opposing backfields. Todd Gurley scored twice on Monday Night against a depleted Packers run defense. Sunday looks to be no different for the perennial double-digit touchdown finisher.

Coming off a Monday Night goose egg, Calvin Ridley looks to reclaim the WR1 chair with a healthy Week 5 performance. Ridley has a touchdown in each of his four career games against Carolina, while leading Atlanta in total touchdowns since the beginning of the 2018 season.

No. 2) Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs: Touchdown Dance

Prop: Josh Jacobs, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and Tyreek Hill OVER 3.5 Touchdowns.

In two career games against the Chiefs, Josh Jacobs has 7.0 yards per carry on 29 attempts. Jacobs leads the league with 83 carries and has logged 30 (No. 3) Evaded Tackles. He hasn’t scored since Week 1 against Carolina when he finished with three touchdowns, and looks to get back in the scoring column against a Chiefs defense that is bottom-5 against running backs in total yards allowed.

Monkey Knife Fight Touchdown Dance Prop No. 2 – Week 5

Tyreek Hill has scored on 21-percent of his receptions in 2020, leading the Chiefs with four touchdowns. Hill has scored a touchdown in each game this season and is second to Clyde Edwards-Helaire in Scrimmage Yards. Edwards-Helaire has only one touchdown through four weeks, but does carry a 12.9-percent (No. 12) Target Share on 57.3-percent (No. 15) Route Participation mark.

No. 3) Minnesota Vikings at Seattle Seahawks: Touchdown Dance

Prop: Adam Thielen, Tyler Lockett, and D.K. Metcalf OVER 3.5 Touchdowns.

Through four weeks, no team has given up more than Seattle’s 1,345 yards allowed to receivers. The next closest is Cleveland at 845 yards. Since taking over for Quinton Dunbar in Week 3, Tre Flowers has given up over 250 yards and a touchdown against Miami, and Dallas. Adam Thielen sits in the Top-5 in Target Share, Air Yards, Deep Targets, Touchdowns, and Fantasy Points Per Route Run. As good as Thielen has been for Minnesota, Seattle’s cornerbacks have been equally as bad, giving up 110-plus yards to at least one receiver each week.

Monkey Knife Fight Touchdown Dance Prop No. 3 – Week 5

While Seattle’s corners haven’t been able to stop anyone, nobody has been able to slow Russell Wilson and the offense down either. D.K. Metcalf leads the league with 25.2 Yards Per Reception, and Tyler Lockett is tied for No. 2 with four touchdowns. Metcalf is on pace to be the first Player since Flipper Anderson in 1989 to finish the season with over 25.0 yards per reception.

No. 4) Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans: Touchdown Dance

Prop: James Robinson, David Johnson and Will Fuller OVER 3.5 Touchdowns.

Undrafted rookie James Robinson continues to impress week after week. With over 90 total yards in each of the first four games and three total touchdowns, Robinson sits No. 6 in total fantasy points among running backs while averaging 19.1 (No. 9) Fantasy Points per Game. Houston’s No. 32-ranked defense has allowed 162 rushing yards per game and six total touchdowns to opponents. Not only are we taking Robinson in the Touchdown Dance, but we’re taking him over 74.5 yards in The Podfather’s Prop of The Week.

Monkey Knife Fight Touchdown Dance Prop No. 4 – Week 5

The quiet shootout of the week belongs to Houston and Jacksonville, two poor defenses with potent offenses. David Johnson has struggled to establish the run in 2020 while scoring two touchdowns on less than 18 touches per week. Jacksonville’s defense has allowed six touchdowns to running backs while rankings No. 21 against the run. In the three games that Will Fuller finished, he has totaled over 100 yards or a touchdown as the clear No. 1 in the Houston passing game.

No. 5) The Podfather’s Prop of The Week – Jacksonville @ Houston: Touchdown Dance

Prop: Deshaun Watson OVER 290.5 Yards, Will Fuller OVER 4.5 Receptions, Gardner Minshew UNDER 277.5 Yards, James Robinson OVER 74.5 Rushing Yards.

Continuing on the Houston and Jacksonville game. In a proper shootout, you can assume both quarterbacks would be smash plays. Not in this one. Because James Robinson is so heavily used, and the Houston defense is equally as bad at stopping the run. Gardner Minshew will be asked to throw less while Robinson controls the clock. Deshaun Watson will be asked to play from behind in the second half, where he and Will Fuller will smash their overs in garbage time.
