Jacksonville Jaguars
No. 1 – Evan Neal, OT – Alabama
The best player in the 2022 NFL Draft. And from a talent perspective, there are only two guys that can argue that (Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Kyle Hamilton). Evan Neal played both right and left tackle at Alabama and showed the smooth transition between the two, a rare trait in Lineman. When a video surfaced in the summer of 2021 of Neal doing a 48-inch split box jump, it became apparent that the “Future Top 10 Pick” needed to be looked at closer.
Alabama OT Evan Neal is 6-foot-7, 350 pounds. And can do this on a 48-inch box jump.

During his Junior seasons, Neal allowed just two sacks on 1,073 total snaps.
No. 33 – Kingsley Enagbare, EDGE – South Carolina
The model of consistency over the last three seasons at South Carolina, Kingsley Enagbare finished with seven tackles for loss in each season, and 14 sacks during that time. In 2019, Enagare (3.5 sacks, 7 tackles for loss) played alongside NFL Studs Javon Kinlaw (6 sacks, 6 TFL’s), D.J. Wonnum (4.5 sacks, 95 TFL’s), and newly crowned Super Bowl Champion Ernest Jones (1 sack, 5.5 TFL’s). Look for the Jaguars to use him in multiple roles, rushing from the outside linebacker positions all the way to the interior on the defensive line.

Enagbare has the motor, strength, drive, and wherewithal to do it all. As previously discussed with Aidan Hutchinson, he is best used in a two-point stance off the edge.
No. 65 – Justyn Ross, WR – Clemson
If you listen to the Mind of Mansion, The Futurecast, or the PlayerProfiler AMA Show, you may have heard about this landing spot a few times by now. When I mentioned it to Matt, he was ecstatic, because it makes all the sense in the world based on value and opportunity. The Travis Etienne draft pick was forced in 2021, but that is what made Trevor Lawrence comfortable, so they did it. If Lawrence vouches for the Clemson freshman breakout, expect him to be in teal and gold come late-April.
Justyn Ross prior to Injury (with Trevor Lawrence)
Breakout Age: 18.7 (94th-percentile)
2018: 46 receptions (75 targets), 1,000 receiving yards, 9 touchdowns with 14.8-percent Target Share in 14 games.
2019: 66 receptions (98 targets), 865 receiving yards, 8 touchdowns with a 19.2-percent Target Share in 14 games.
No. 70 – Alontae Taylor, CB – Tennessee
A similar player to Shaquill Griffin, the current starting outside cornerback for the Jaguars. Tre Herndon is a free agent this spring, and sophomore, Tyson Campbell started 14 games in 2021, finishing with two interceptions and 73 tackles.
Arguably the biggest need for the Jaguars is on the back end at cornerback and safety. They address that depth in Round 3 again this year.
No. 104 – Kerby Joseph, S – Illinois
After three seasons of mediocre play, Kerby Joseph started all 12 games in 2021. He jumped in front of five interceptions after not having one in the previous three seasons. Reiterating what was said above about Alontae Taylor and the Jaguars needing that back-end depth. Joseph joins a weak safety group led by veteran talents, Andrew Wingard, and Rudy Ford.
Are They the 2022 Cincinnati Bengals?
What makes this even a question, you may ask? Head coach Zac Taylor joined the Bengals in 2019. So the lag in program stability doesn’t correlate other than both franchises historically being the laughing stock of the NFL. Doug Pederson stepped away from the NFL for one year after departing Philadelphia, just three seasons post Super Bowl win. He joins a roster that has been slowly built on the defensive side of the ball over the last three drafts. Including selections of CB Tyson Campbell (Round 2: 2021), EDGE K’Lavon Chaisson (Round 1: 2020), DT DaVon Hamilton (Round 3: 2020), EDGE Josh Allen(Round 1: 2019), and DT Taven Bryan (Round 1: 2018). And not only do the Jaguars have the early-round draft depth on defense, but they also enter free agency again as one of the top teams in cap space, with $63,522,834.
What they should do? Draft Evan Neal, LT – Alabama
What they could do? Trade back to 1.10 with the Jets, from 1.01. And Draft a Treylon Burks, or Drake London.
The Jaguars should have learned enough after watching Joe Burrow get crushed in every single round of the playoffs and continually have knee injuries week in and week out. PROTECT your Quarterback, Jacksonville.
Jacksonville will not mess this one up, they will draft Evan Neal in Round 1, and come back for the Clemson connection, Justyn Ross, in Round 3.
For Comparison Purposes:
Justyn Ross with Trevor Lawrence at Clemson = 112 receptions, 1,865 receiving yards, 17 touchdowns in 28 games.
Ja’Marr Chase with Joe Burrow at LSU = 107 receptions, 2,093 receiving yards, 23 touchdowns in 24 games.
