Round 1 (Picks No. 1-32)

No. 1 –  Jacksonville Jaguars – Evan Neal, OT – Alabama

No. 2 – Detroit Lions – Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE – Michigan

No. 3 – Houston Texans – Ikem Ekwonu, OT – NC State

No. 4 – New York Jets – Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE – Oregon

No. 5 – New York Giants – Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa

I told you so… in Mock 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 – “Inserts shrug emoji.”

No. 6 – Carolina Panthers – Sam Howell, QB – North Carolina

No. 7 – New York Giants – Tyler Linderbaum, OL – Iowa

No. 8 – Atlanta Falcons – Jermaine Johnson, EDGE, Florida State

I prefer Jermaine Johnson to Aidan Hutchinson, but I’m not sure we can press him up into the Top-5. It has been a long road for the Minneapolis, MN native, who spend time at Independence CC, Georgia, and Florida State. The Atlanta Falcons were one of a few teams that were scattered at all times across the stadium in Mobile, Alabama. On-field, In the stands, In the Press Box, everywhere you went… Falcons staff. They saw what everyone else did… the Most Dominant performance of the Week. All of my sources point to DL/EDGE in Round 1.

No. 9 – Denver Broncos – Kyle Hamilton, S – Notre Dame

No. 10 – New York Jets – Charles Cross, OT – Mississippi State

No. 11 – Washington – Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh

No. 12 – Pittsburgh Steelers – Malik Willis, QB, Liberty

The Worst-Kept Secret in Mobile all week, will be interested to see how Malik Willis‘ stock climbs once he runs a 4.44 40-yard dash in Indianapolis later this month. Willis was the only quarterback to take that next step at the Senior Bowl, earning all of the media and NFL scouts respect and appreciation after a dominant performance in the rain on Day 2.

No. 13 – Cleveland Browns – David Ojabo, EDGE – Michigan

No. 14 – Baltimore Ravens – Jordan Davis, DT – Georgia

No. 15 – Philadelphia Eagles – Drake London, WR, USC

No. 16 – Philadelphia Eagles – Devin Lloyd, LB, Utah

No. 17 – Los Angeles Chargers – Darian Kinnard – OT – Kentucky

No. 18 – New Orleans Saints – Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss

No. 19 – Philadelphia Eagles – Sauce Gardner, CB – Cincinnati

No. 20 – Minnesota Vikings – Derek Stingley, CB – LSU

No. 21 – New England Patriots – Nakobe Dean, LB – Georgia

No. 24 – Dallas Cowboys – Trent McDuffie, CB – Washington

No. 25 – Buffalo Bills – George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue

No. 26 – Tennessee Titans – Trey McBride, TE, Colorado State

A clear missing piece in the 2021 Tennessee Titans, was the output at Tight End after Jonnu Smith left in free agency. Anthony Firkser, and Geoff Swaim “AIN’T IT”… So welcome down, in Round 1 – “The M’F Mackey Award Winner, Trey McBride” – Evan Silva

No. 27 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers –  DeMarvin Leal, DL – Texas A&M

No. 28 – Green Bay Packers – Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas

No. 29 – Miami Dolphins – Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State

No. 30 – Kansas City Chiefs – Jameson Williams, WR – Alabama

No. 31 – Cincinnati Bengals – Bernhard Raimann, OT – Central Michigan

No. 32 – Detroit Lions – Garrett Wilson, WR – Ohio State

Round 2 (Picks No. 33-64)

No. 33 – Jacksonville Jaguars – Kingsley Enagbare, EDGE – South Carolina

No. 34 – Detroit Lions – DeAngelo Malone, EDGE – Western Kentucky

No. 35 – New York Jets – Zion Johnson, OL – Boston College

No. 36 – New York Giants – Myjai Sanders, EDGE – Cincinnati

No. 37 – Houston Texans – Perrion Winfrey, DL – Oklahoma

No. 38 – New York Jets – Jalen Pitre, S – Baylor

No. 39 – Chicago Bears – George Pickens, WR – Georgia

No. 40 – Denver Broncos – Kaiir Elam, CB – Florida

No. 41 – Seattle Seahawks – Derion Kendrick, CB – Georgia

The Seahawks’ first pick in the 2022 NFL Draft needs to be focused on the back-end or the offensive line. Derion Kendrick is a first-round talent, that was kicked out of Clemson in 2020. He went on to join Georgia, win a National Championship, and have a dominant performance at the Senior Bowl.

No. 42 – Washington – Kenyon Green, OL – Texas A&M

No. 43 – Atlanta Falcons – Carson Strong, QB – Nevada

No. 44 – Cleveland Browns – Devonte Wyatt, DL – Georgia

No. 45 – Baltimore Ravens – Daniel Faalele, OT – Minnesota

No. 46 – Minnesota Vikings – Jaquan Brisker, S – Penn State

No. 47 – Indianapolis Colts – Nicholas Petit-Frere, OT – Ohio State

No. 48 – Los Angeles Chargers – Travis Jones, DL – Connecticut

No. 49 – New Orleans Saints – Daxton Hill, S – Michigan

No. 50 – Miami Dolphins – Travon Walker, EDGE – Georgia

No. 51 – Philadelphia Eagles – Drake Jackson, EDGE – USC

No. 52 – Pittsburgh Steelers – Ed Ingram, OL – LSU

Not only do the Pittsburgh Steelers need a starting quarterback (Malik Willis), they also need a number of offensive linemen to build back the depth after losing Maurkice Pouncey, Ramon Foster, Marcus Gilbert, David DeCastro, and Alejandro Villanueva over the last four years. Ed Ingram can come in Day 1 and start for the Steelers.

No. 53 – Las Vegas Raiders – Phidarian Mathis, DL – Alabama

No. 62 – Kansas City Chiefs – Arnold Ebiketie, EDGE – Penn State

No. 63 – Cincinnati Bengals – Tariq Woolen, CB – UTSA

No. 64 – Denver Broncos – Quay Walker, LB – Georgia

Round 3 (Picks No. 65-102)

No. 65 – Jacksonville Jaguars – Justyn Ross, WR – Clemson

No. 66 – Detroit Lions – Desmond Ridder, QB – Cincinnati

No. 67 – New York Giants – Greg Dulcich, TE – UCLA

No. 68 – Houston Texans – Isaiah Spiller, RB – Texas A&M

No. 69 – New York Jets – Logan Hall, DL – Houston

No. 70 – Jacksonville Jaguars – Alontae Taylor, CB – Tennessee

No. 71 – Chicago Bears – Max Mitchell, OT – UL-Lafayette

No. 72 – Seattle Seahawks – Abraham Lucas, OT – Washington State

No. 73 – Washington – Sean Rhyan, OT – UCLA

No. 74 – Atlanta Falcons – Brian Robinson, RB – Alabama

Do I enjoy this selection, No. But do I think Arthur Smith pounds the table for a 6-2, 225-pound running back out of Alabama… yes, yes I do believe he does. In Round 3, it makes sense. Brian Robinson can handle 250-plus carries, and continue his late-career breakout after five years at Alabama and one 1,000 yard season.

No. 75 – Denver Broncos – Jamaree Salyer, OL – Georgia

No. 76 – Baltimore Ravens – Tariq Castro-Fields, CB – Penn State

No. 77 – Minnesota Vikings – Haskell Garrett, DL – Ohio State

No. 78 – Cleveland Browns – Calvin Austin, WR – Memphis

No. 79 – Los Angeles Chargers – Boye Mafe, EDGE – Minnesota

No. 80 – Houston Texans – Nik Bonitto, EDGE – Oklahoma

No. 81 – New York Giants – David Bell, WR – Purdue

No. 82 – Indianapolis Colts – Christian Watson, WR – NDSU

No. 83 – Philadelphia Eagles – Verone McKinley, S – Oregon

No. 84 – Miami Dolphins – Kyren Williams, RB – Notre Dame

No. 85 – New England Patriots – John Metchie, WR – Alabama

No. 86 – Las Vegas Raiders – Dylan Parham, OL – Memphis

No. 87 – Arizona Cardinals –  Breece Hall, RB – Iowa State

No. 88 – Dallas Cowboys –  Jeremy Ruckert, TE – Ohio State

Talking to Dallas Cowboys scouts and higher-ups, they expect Cedrick Wilson and Dalton Schultz to garner a healthy payday on the open market, and they don’t have a great deal of cap to bring both or either back. They have Blake Jarwin under contract, and Michael Gallup fresh off of ACL surgery is expected to take on a much smaller payday than Wilson. Expect a one-year deal for Gallup. That brings us to Jeremy Ruckert, he will join in the Schultz role and supplant Jarwin by season’s end… think Pat Freiermuth > Eric Ebron.

No. 89 – Buffalo Bills – Cole Strange, OL – Chattanooga

No. 90 – Tennessee Titans – D’Marco Jackson, LB – Appalachian State

No. 91 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Kenneth Walker, RB – Michigan State

Cody’s Takeaways

After a long week in Mobile, Alabama for the 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl, I came away with a hand full of notes while talking to contemporaries, scouts, and even a couple of members of NFL front offices.

No. 1

The biggest takeaway, it sounds small, but everyone I talked to attached to the NFL explained that the front offices are “not as forward-thinking as people in the media think we are, we focus on today and tomorrow, not next week.” This was brought up while talking through the 2021 NFL Draft, and rumors of potential trades for the Dallas Cowboys.

No. 2

Kenny Pickett entered Mobile as the consensus QB1 according to NFL Scouts and the Media.. both on the same page? Weird, I know!

No. 3

The worst kept secret in Mobile was Mike Tomlin’s love and attachment to Malik Willis each and every day. Tomlin was on the field, following Willis and the OL up and down the field and mingling with a number of players. He was the only non-Lions/Jets Coach that was on the field from start to finish, all three days.

No. 4

As some of you may know, I have had two Senior Bowl studs in the first round of my first three mock drafts, that being Northern Iowa’s Trevor Penning and Florida State’s Jermaine Johnson. Both guys dominated in Mobile. Penning dominated all week, finishing after EVERY whistle and almost starting fights every day. Jermaine had such a dominant Day 1 and 2 that he didn’t even dress for the game on Saturday. He did enough for NFL Scouts that his agent was good pulling the plug.

No. 5

The Cleveland Browns staff was solely focused on the Offensive and Defensive line 1 on 1’s, Inside Run Game, and Pass Blocking/Rushing. Including Scouts, and GM Andrew Berry sitting on the Media side of the stadium, scouting the OL/DL most of the day on Day 2.

No. 6

Falcons GM, Terry Fontenot discussed the use of Analytics in the Falcons organization as “minimal” –  the biggest thing is, “We look at it, but mostly for injuries and comparing practice data.”

No. 7

The Dallas Cowboys had “Micah Parsons as the No. 1 player on their Draft Board in 2021. However, if Patrick Surtain was available, he was the pick… and to double down, if Jaycee Horn was available, they preferred Horn to Surtain.” Mind-boggling to me, but it makes sense now that they traded down from No. 10 to No. 12, after Horn and Surtain were drafted at No. 8 and No. 9.
