David Montgomery stepped right back into his normal workhorse role in his return to action. He saw 13 carries and 2 targets on a 78.9 Opportunity Share and 84.5-percent Snap Share. On a seasonal basis, he has been in full takeover of the Bear backfield. He checks in with a 73.8-percent (No. 5 among qualified running backs) Opportunity Share, a 56.2-percent (No. 6) Route Participation, and a 33.1-percent (No. 3) Dominator Rating.

He dominates touches and is involved in the passing game. He relies on his dynamism and Justin Fields makes the entire offense more dynamic. Chicago is a run-heavy team, running 29.2 (No. 6) Team Run Plays per Game. You want pass-catching running backs with Konami quarterbacks. The pieces to the puzzle are all there. Montgomery is a solid RB2 with RB1 upside. Go get him.
D’Andre Swift
Fantasy Football is a “What have you done for me lately?” game (even though it shouldn’t be). D’Andre Swift had his worst game of the year in Week 8 and then went straight into a bye-week. Two weeks without seeing someone play can be a long time for managers. He has earned a mouth-watering 143.5 (No. 4) Weighted Opportunities, 19.8-percent (No. 1) Target Share, 30.9-percent (No. 7) Dominator Rating, and 18.2 (No. 8) Fantasy Points per Game.
D’Andre Swift 2021 Opportunity, Productivity, & Advanced Receiving Metrics
Swift is earning fantasy relevant opportunities at an elite rate. The lack of pass catchers in Detroit has forced to him a funnel of targets. The Lions struggle has not had a negative effect on his opportunities. You’ll still have to give up a fair sum to acquire him, but any discount on an elite bell-cow is one worth taking advantage of. This is a league winner you need on your team.

Brandon Aiyuk
The Brandon Aiyuk comeback game happened on Sunday, and it was beautiful. He ran a route on all 40 of Jimmy Garoppolo‘s pass attempts and finished with a 93.0-percent Snap Share. He also set season highs with 8 targets, 6 receptions, 89 receiving yards, and 18.7 (No. 9) Fantasy Points.

We finally saw flashes of the explosive playmaker that we witnessed last season. His routes looked sharper, he looked more confident, and now he appears to be out of Shanahan’s dog house. Player’s like Aiyuk are perfect trade targets. Managers are waiting for one last notable game so that they can sell at a decent price. With the usage rate trending back to its expected level, he’s a screaming value and this week’s buy of the week.
You don’t win fantasy leagues through the draft. You win by taking advantage of the waiver wire and trade market. This year’s early season shenanigans present ample opportunity to push your team to the next level. Start by targeting these players. If you can’t manage to strike a deal, then there’s always next week at the fantasy supermarket.
